Well, they can’t all be winners. After the great root beers of the last two days we come to Red Arroe Root Beer. It is an average offering which is heavy on essential oils and offers no finish. the flavor is borderline bitter, but the root beer is not too carbonated which gives the root beer a sort of watery body.
The oils cover the palette and linger there long after you have finished the drink. You would have to drink this with something very sharp to cut through the lingering taste of root beer that it leaves in your mouth.
Not one of the better root beers here. It is drinkable and if you are off somewhere and this is the only root beer available, You could pick it up for a one off try, but I would not add this one to my root beer stable.
I know I am coming off back to back great root beers and my expectations were very high, so I may be judging this a little harshly, but I would give this one a 4 out of 10 and recommend you pass this one by. Root Beer needs a nice balance of flavors and a smooth finish and this one offers neither.
Until next time True Believers, may your mug always be frosted and your root beer always foamy. Don’t forget to tune in tomorrow for Day 7: Old Red Eye Root Beer.
